for the love of eve and judas is part of the ANTI-HERO series
In the painting, Nicole asks the question, "Who is the hero?" In addition to symbolic visuals from Eve and Judas' story, Nicole includes lines of scripture from the Bible that detail glimpses into the relatable motives for each character's actions. Eve: "And when the woman saw that the tree was good ... to make one wise, she took of the fruit." Judas: "He gave back the 30 silver coins."
While the stories of Eve and Judas have traditionally been framed as those of carnal sinner (Eve) and villain (Judas), Nicole's ANTI-HERO series invites viewers to poke holes in the stories we think we know to find relatability and vulnerability, building muscle memory for greater empathy."
